Gypsy-Rose Alcida Blanchard-Anderson, born July 27, 1991, is a survivor of Munchausen by Proxy, a type of child abuse in which a parent or caregiver fabricates or induces illness in a child for attention or sympathy.

Blanchard's mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, was convicted of murder in 2015 for killing Gypsy's father, Clauddine "Claudius" Pitre, in 2001. Police discovered Dee Dee's body four days after the murder upon residents reporting a foul odor coming from the home.
