Texans rookie running back Dameon Pierce still hasn't practiced.

Texans head coach Lovie Smith said Pierce is day-to-day.
Smith said Pierce is "day-to-day" and that he's not sure if he'll be able to play in the Texans' preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday.
If Pierce can't play, the Texans will likely start Marlon Mack at running back. Mack has been with the Texans since 2019 and has started 16 games in his career.
If Pierce is unable to play, it will be a big blow to the Texans' offense. Pierce was one of the most productive running backs in college football last season, rushing for 1,825 yards and 19 touchdowns at Florida. He was also a good receiver out of the backfield, catching 25 passes for 205 yards and three touchdowns.The Texans are hoping that Pierce can be a big part of their offense this season. He's a talented runner who can also catch passes out of the backfield. If he can stay healthy, he could be a valuable asset to the Texans' offense.
